Churches in Sydney

I appreciated this write-up from Sam, and thought the info needed to be kept somewhere useful rather than getting lost in old topics... This might be a productive use of these regional boards - post info about churches or events that are going on in each state? Would be a really useful reference point, I think.

Lots of options, depending on where you are. I'll suggest a couple by area; if you're in a different part of Sydney then we can work other things out too.

Most of these are Anglican churches, since that's my patch. There's no doubt other great churches around, but other people will have to point you to them! Generally from what I know these evening services are medium to large-ish services (50-100 or thereabouts), mostly uni-type ages, welcoming of passers-by, up-beat & good vibe.

Northern Sydney:
St Thomas' North Sydney (Anglican) - 6pm. Ju, Elissa Moran, and a few other frisbee folk go here.
St Andrew's, Roseville (Anglican) - 7pm. Pete Gardner, Sarah Crossie go to this one.
St Paul's Chatswood (Anglican) - . Mark & Andrea Wang here.

Inner West:
Barneys (St Barnabas' Broadway) - 6.30pm. Meets at Moore College in Newtown at the moment until they rebuild their building. Could be some frisbee folk here, but I'm not sure. Big uni-age congregation.
Petersham Baptist. 5.30pm. Nicole & Nathan Hare here.

East:
UNSW Unichurch. 6.30 pm. Uni students, meets in a lecture hall. I used to go here, and loved it.
St Matthias', Paddington. 6pm.

There's obviously heaps more about, but if you're close to any of these, give them a shot. If you're elsewhere, let us know and we'll suggest some more.
