Web Address

We’ve got a proper web address, since people seemed to like the name ‘Real Victory’.

The forums are at the same place, relative to the new address: http://real-victory.org/forum.

This would be a good time to update your bookmarks, although old addresses should redirect automatically (let me know if there are problems).

Forum Rego

Speaking of problems, it seems that occasionally on registrations for the forums there is no activation email sent. This should happen pretty-much immediately, so if you’re waiting on an email, again, send me an email and we’ll sort it out.

Subscriptions

Finally, I mucked up a couple of the feed/email subscription links in the last post and on the sidebar. They’re fixed up now, but you might want to check that you’re getting the Real Victory feed (not anything else). For reference, here are the links: RSS and Email.

Great to see people joining up. Here’s a few things about how you can use this site easily to stay in contact with people around the country, and in your own region.

Sign up.

Obviously, this is part of it. You can see everything on this blog, and all the discussions in the forums, but you can’t contribute unless you sign up. It’s easy to do though. Head to the forums to register.

Contribute.

Get posting. For starters you might like to introduce yourself. If you can think of an alternative name (we’re still open to suggestions at the moment), let your voice be heard. Another helpful thing along these lines is to give yourself a bit of a meaningful profile. Go to your User Control Panel in the forums and upload an avatar (a little picture that represents you on the forums), give some info about where you’re from, interests, etc. All this stuff helps distinguish you a little from everyone else, so when you get to a tournament you might just be able to find people. Here’s my info, as an example.

Sign up to RSS or Email updates for news postings, and subscribe to any forums or forum topics that you like by clicking the appropriate link down the bottom of a forum or thread (you’ll receive an email notifying you of any new posts).

Write.

If you’ve got some thoughts, musings, an article, or news you would like to post here (something that doesn’t really fit in the forums), then sign up for a role as an author.

Share.

Let people know about this thing. It’s not much use if there’s only 4 people using it, and we all know each other. Spread the word, invite Christians you know to come over and take part, or those who are interested.

This site primarily exists to help Christians in the Ultimate Frisbee scene in Australia connect with one another, and to provide some mutual encouragement to keep going with following Jesus. One of the great things about Christian brothers and sisters is that we’re a great encouragement to one another to keep persevering, to keep running the race, knowing the hope we have set before us. Hopefully this site can help us do that. If you’re here thinking about Christianity, or wanting to be a part of this community, welcome! It’s great to have you here.

This blog will have periodic updates about meeting up at tournaments, news, or other bits and pieces. There is also a forum site for discussion on a whole bunch of different things, at a local and national level.
